The War on Terror (a.k.a. Mosquitos)

Oh yes, the only thing seeming to threaten us here in this country that's supposedly so dangerous to be in, are those evil little buzzing flying devils called mosquitos. In my first hour here in Saudi I was bitten (bit, or whatever) 5 times, all on my neck. They don't like my neck anymore. They're a having a bloody love affair with my right arm now... I swear, last night, after a 10 minute ride in the car to the airport I had a total of 8 bites on my right arm, and 2 on my left arm... I now smell heavily of lemon (the scent of the mosquito repellant spray) and aim to do so for the next 2 months, as there's no way I'm letting them get anywhere near my skin in the near future. Thanks very much.

Oh, and Happy New Year all!

When the first second ticked into 2004 I was in a car at the security gate to our compound coming from the airport, so glam. Well, that's yet another location to add to my list of "The bizarre places I've been on New Year's". That night was exactly nothing special, unless you consider going to sleep when getting home as exciting, it certainly was the best option for me, as I honestly just don't function when I've had less than 6hrs sleep in a span of 48 hrs, seriously.

And now I'm on a nightshift at the airport, with nothing to do at all, except writing this, as there aren't any movements till 08:00 in the morning (I'm off at 06:00). I did have one arrival though at the start of my shift, very easy and straightforward, a flight from Kochin in India. Since then I've been hanging about, and will do so till I'm off. It's seriously stupid though, to stay here doing nothing for the next 7 hours (except scratch my mosquito bites!).
