"Mesdames et Messieurs, nous sommes arrivés à Moscou"

Air France does not welcome it's passengers to their destination, but states the obvious fact that they have, in fact, just landed there.
They're a nice bunch though, although once they'll be wearing those uniforms Christian Lacroix is designing for them they're going to look so much better.

Moscow is cold, hovers around the -10°C mark, and the ground is permanently covered with snow. The Red Square looks just magical and it doesn't feel that cold once you've been walking for half an hour or so. Sales all over, and Olga and Vladimir in full action spending their rubles on that pink coat from 3 seasons ago.
I quite like this place, as grey and surgically socialist it is, it's still great.

Back in Icyland

A bit unexpected I know, but I'm back in Iceland, arrived here Friday afternoon after a near 20hr voyage from Saudi.
"Oh, but I thought you were going to stay longer than that?"
Well, that's true but due to some conflicting interests I decided to leave, something I'm not going into discussing here, but you know if you know, and if you don't, drop me a line!

It's been ages since I wrote anything on here, maybe the reason being me not having anything interesting to say, but I'd rather blame it on me being totally bogged down with work, which I absolutely was. I can only feel sorry for the guys that are still down there doing the same job I was, since it is going to be hell during the outbound second phase of the Hajj, but I don't regret leaving, which is totally not related to Jeddah or Saudi Arabia as a country. In fact I loved the place as a place to live, albeit summer must be hellish weather-wise. But as during the last month, 'winter' (a totally unjustified name for this season down there) was actually very pleasant. The atmosphere on a whole is very pleasant, good shopping, interesting things to see every day and fantastic things to eat. I'd recommend it to anyone who lands a good job there (the emphasis on 'good' please) to go ahead and see what the place is like, it might just surprise the hell out of you, and that in a good way of course!

I'm also bringing to your attention a newly updated photo album, you'll find the link on the left hand side, containing some 30 pics from the land of sun, palm trees and dates in all shapes (I mean the fruit duh!).
