Have you ever laughed so much that it resulted in a headache?

Snúður... yummm

When I sleep over 10 hours I start having really funky dreams.
All I know is that they're real funky, cause it's not like I remember them properly, only one or two bits about them.
Last night it had something to do with salad.

Off to the Islamic Republic tonight, yet again. My last trip before having 12 days off, most of which I shall probably be spending in Moscow.

Trays are like so the thing to have in your posession this spring/summer.
Ever so useful for just anything.
For use in the kitchen, if you feel like taking your breakfast to your bedroom or just anything that takes you fancy!
Habitat does them in a variety of fresh colours to suit any mood.
Yours truly is a big fan.

Crumpets. Imagine a really thick pancake you're frying on a pan, lots of holes in it, all looking a bit gooey. Ok. Then imagine freezing the concoction in that state, and leaving it 1cm thick. That's what a crumpet looks like (for those of you not so familiar with the wonders of the British culinary world!). Maybe a cross between an American pancake and a potato cake or something like that.
Anyhow.
Crumpets are this week's obsession in pallpall-land.
A very versatile food, crumpets are. They can be eaten simply with butter (which melts very quickly on a proper hot crumpet), or then topped with ham, cottage cheese and honey mustard for a perfect afternoon snack.
You see, not all coming out of an English kitchen has to be vile!

Viva Forever.
Do you remember the Spice Girls? Of course you do. And if you're saying "aw, bloody awful they were", oh please, just admit it, there was at least one song by them you liked, or still like.
Viva Forever, that's the one I like at the moment and features on my iPod's "25 Most Played" this week.

I'm aware that I have a bit of an obsessive personality.
Fun at times, but disastrous at others (a whole tub of Ben & Jerry's in an evening anyone?!).

Sleep.

A bit of a concept really, isn't it?

I don't have a natural body clock anymore (Circadian rythm, what?), so when I'm tired, I sleep, and when I feel awake, I stay awake. Makes sense, no?

Anyhow, my favouritest thing at the moment is to build a tent-like thing (perhaps more resembling a dog's bed) in my bed with all my pillows and huge duvet, and then sleep in it for something like 14 hours.
Feel like crap when I wake up though, but when I need it, I need it.

Happy New Year Leute!

I do hope you had a very good 2005, but may 2006 be even better and loads more fun.

Now, shall I make it my new year's resolution to be more active in writing posts on this thing? Well, I will try my best, but won't promise anything.

So yes, Xmas in Kazakhstan. Special that was.
The crew did make up for it though, and we all had a lovely time.
On Chritmas Eve we were then all invited to a scrumptuous Xmas Buffet by the Hyatt (the hotel we stay at in Almaty), together with the KLM and Lufthansa crews.
Have to say the Dutch were a lot friendlier, also maybe due to the fact most of them were at least 10 years younger than the Lufthansa lot. We all got along really well though, and the food was absolutely gorgeous, not mentioning the dessert table!

Our flight back was then on the 25th with a grand total of 25 passengers (just realised it makes sense now!), perhaps not surprisingly, all but one were Russians (who boarded in Ekaterinburg) who all had connecting flights to places like Chicago, Capetown, Nice and the like. The odd one out was a Canadian who had the misfortune of spending a night in Kazakh prison as the silly man overstayed his visa.

So I finally got to Iceland just before midnight on Christman day itself, absolutely nackered, but happy to be home, even though it was only for 2 days.

Had a little Baku trip on the 29th (coming back on the 31st)... on which I got accused of trying to poison the crew with my selection of Icelandic and Scandinavian sweets! They weren't fond of Þristur or Läkerol at all, silly people.

Spent New Year's with Joona and Matthew at their pad in central London... lovely dinner and ice cream. Yours truly had been up since the ungodly hour of something like 4AM, so going out that night would have been disastrous... passing out from tiredness isn't really my style, you see.

First trip of the new year was then a 5-day Amman... and 2nd trip of 2006 is:
another 5-day Amman (originally I was supposed to be on a 4-day Baku, but got changed, thankfully I say, as I'm not the biggest fan of the Azeri capital).
I do like Amman, friendly people and a certain no-hassle environment not found here in England. You may see I'm not the biggest fan of the stress of central London, although I don't live there myself (could I ever).

Anyhow folks, yet again wishing you all the best in this new year...
